All the projects here are between ten and twenty years old. Like the plumber with leaky taps at home, I’m so busy working I can never find the time to update my site. But these case histories will still tell you something about my track record and approach.

AGV and Dainese, Italy
Copy
Motorcycling is one of my passions. And there are few companies as passionate and innovative in motorcycling as Dainese and AGV. I had the pleasure of working with both companies from 2008 to 2017, providing copy and concepts for their internal and external communications, including advertising, brochures, presentations, speeches, exhibitions, events and roadshows. The projects involved creating original concepts and copy, as well as reconceptualising or adapting Italian communications.
Banca Fideuram, Italy
Copy
Banca Fideuram - a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Banking Group - is one of the leading innovators in Italian private banking. That includes their approach to clear and compelling communications, which has led them to become multiple winners of the Financial Statements Oscars in recent years. I wrote the English language versions of their quarterly reports and related press releases from 2001 to 2012, ensuring they communicated their distinctive strengths and values effectively to all international stakeholders.
Cartier Philanthropy, Geneva
Strategy, creative concepts and copy
I’ve worked with Cartier Philanthropy since 2014, when it was known as the Cartier Charitable Foundation. The support provided ranges across the full spectrum of internal and external communications, including Cartier Philanthropy’s website, annual report, news articles, social media and videos.
Creo, Italy
Brand concept, strategy, design and launch campaign
Creo was a new franchise concept in creative gifts. I was brought in to the project from the very beginning as strategic consultant and creative director through Nexus to conceptualise and build the new brand, creating the name and strapline, and producing the launch events and literature for its highly-successful first two stores.
Fortune Investment Management, Geneva
Branding and website
Fortune Investment Management is the brainchild of a longstanding client with whom I first worked when he was rising through senior positions at the private banks Safra Republic and HSBC Republic. Working closely together, we developed the branding, key messages and website for his new company.
MSC Cruises, Geneva
Branding and copy
MSC Cruises is the third-largest and only family-owned cruise company in the world, with a distinctively Mediterranean style and flavour. I provide various departments in the company with wide-ranging support, both directly and through their advertising agency, MSC Mediagrafica, extending from strategic consultancy to advertising concepts and copy, video scripts, press releases and speeches.
Nexus, Bologna
Nexus is a unique company founded in 2004 that enables Italian companies to communicate more effectively worldwide. As Creative Director of Nexus until early 2013, I developed the name and strapline, the concepts and copy for the website, and the work showcased on it. The site is in Italian, but almost all the work shown is in English.
Branding and copy
Realitalia, is an award-winning creator of turnkey designer second homes in Italy, both new and sensitively restored. They approached me to help with their branding, strapline, key messages, brochure, website and related communications.
Swan Hellenic, London
Branding and copy
Swan Hellenic was relaunched in July 2020 to proudly advance the spirit of cultural expedition cruising the company pioneered in the 1950s. I work with its talented and dynamic marketing team to create website, social media and PR copy.
Tari Iniekio-Suboh, Yenagoa and Hove
Election communications strategy and copy
Tari was an aspirant gubernatorial candidate for Bayelsa State, Nigeria, in 2005. I directed and wrote Tari’s English communications and gave a speech introducing him at his main London rally at the end of the year.
Vetlab Supplies, Pulborough
Branding, copy and creative direction
Vetlab Supplies provides laboratory equipment to veterinary practices. A brand makeover with new positioning messages, logo and strapline had an immediate effect on sales even before the new literature was published.
Vitapet (Seven Seas), Hull
Copy and concepts
Zambon is the largest Italian-owned pharmaceutical multinational. I supported them through Nexus for over 5 years, helping with the communications strategy and copy for their themed Annual Reports, advertising and brochures, as well as with the brand concepts, key messages and launch website for their innovative corporate venture company Z-Cube.

This one’s a bit of a cheat, since it’s not recent work at all. It was in fact the first ad I created at Charles Walls Advertising way back in the late eighties, and I still have a soft spot for it, not least of all because it was very successful.
